Christ in the COVID

Reflection from Pastor Dionne T. Boyice, MDiv 2019 and current DMin student

Currently, I am enrolled in the Embracing Design Thinking course at CBTS. This course teaches and encourages creativity in worship leadership. It challenges us as spiritual leaders to dig deeper in cultivating new and innovative designs for relevant worship.

Embracing Design Thinking, along with the culture of CBTS, has greatly supported me in this time of COVID-19. These are very different times for the world of the church, for the world of worship, and especially the world of pastoral leadership and pastoral care.

It is taking some extra time talking with Jesus to walk alongside those whom we, as spiritual leaders, are serving in these uncertain and unfamiliar times. Many of us students at Central are pastors who lead a good amount of people within our churches and ministries. Therefore, we are called to offer the peace of Christ and to reassure our church family that God is still God, even in the midst of this turmoil.

Central is equipping and enabling us as students who are spiritual leaders, to be ready to lead during this worldwide pandemic. We are taught well by CBTS how to navigate this strange and trying time. They support us in how to move forward lovingly, tenderly, and professionally.

I am proud to be connected to CBTS, leading God’s people even in this time that calls all of us to seek the face of God all the more

Thank you Central Seminary! You have prepared us well.
