Chan Young Park

Supplemental Lecturer in Pastoral Care and Counseling

At Central, I am teaching the subject of counseling to Korean students who are living all over the world. It is my privilege to prepare leaders for seeking God, shaping church, and serving humanity and all creation.

I earned the PhD in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Liberty University in 2010. Thesis topic: “Factors Influencing Korean Immigrant Fathers’ Involvement with Adolescent Children: The Mediating Effect of Father Identity.” I have taught counseling classes at many different schools and pastored three local Baptist churches for eight years.  Currently, I provide counseling at VIPCare in Richmond, VA. With my academic, pastoral, and professional experiences, I seek to train people for helping others who are struggling with mental health and spiritual difficulty in their ministry.
