All Central Seminary alumni are invited to join our new annual, fall alumni gathering: CENTRALIZE! In 2021, this gathering will be held virtually and will include worship, workshops, panel discussions, alumni receptions, meet and greet with Centrals' president and current students and more! We hope you will join us September 23 - 25 (schedule listed below).
Centralize 2021, Narratives of Courage: Storytelling for Social Change, will feature three Asian American women prominent in their ministry fields.
Shauw Chin Capps has over 20 years experience in the non-profit sector delivering micro and macro level work. She currently serves as Foundation President & Chief Development Officer of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Foundation.
Young Lee Hertig’s passion involves knowledge-activism through transcribing, translating, and transmitting spiritual legacies. Transcribing refers to documenting spiritual giants' legacies, translating refers to contextualizing the transcribed legacies, and transmitting refers to creating a third learning space--intersectional, intergenerational, and interdisciplinary. She currently serves as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Innovative Space for Asian American Christianity (ISAAC).
Sue Park is a practical theologian who is currently at Columbia Theological Seminary as the Director of Contextual Education and International Partnerships. She is a PCUSA minister who devotes much of her time to interfaith efforts both in and outside of Christian communities. Her research interests include interfaith/interreligious relations, contextual theologies (Asian American theologies; Korean American Christian theologies; feminist theologies), pedagogy, and praxis.
