For Such a Time as This

A Reflection from MDiv Student Debbie Giese

April of 2020 finds me in places I never thought I’d be. One, clearly, is being under quarantine during a global pandemic in a country that can’t agree on anything. The second is preparing for my third term as a seminarian at CBTS.

Shortly before my 52nd birthday, I was questioning what the next season of my life would look like. The Lord directed me, without stuttering as I like to say, to go to seminary, which had never been on my radar screen.  In the absence of a local program that met my needs, I took my search online and found Central

I’m not sure what God has planned for me after graduation, but because of Central’s approach to education that welcomes diversity of denomination, gender, orientation, age, and experience, I will be ready to lead wherever the Lord assigns

Quality instructors and courses provide me with relevant ways to impact the Kingdom. And, despite being online, I’ve discovered genuine friendships with my fellow seminarians.

People are hungry for hope; God is at work in this season and is preparing us for His work. Our call to the front lines of ministry at this time is not a coincidence.

Debbie lives in Wisconsin with her husband and two teenage sons.
