On October 21, 2022 during Centralize, our annual fall alumni gathering, Denise Hill received Central’s Alumni Award for Ministry Excellence.

Denise Hill graduated from Central in 1982 with a Master of Arts in Religious Studies and in 1986 with a Master of Divinity degree.  She recently retired from Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Missouri after serving as Manager and Clinical Pastoral Certified Educator, supervising CPE residents and interns.  She now ministers as a spiritual director and retreat leader.  Denise was nominated for the Alumni Award for Ministry Excellence by Rev. Lee Rader, M.Div. ’88.  During the nomination process Rev. Rader stated, “Reverend Hill has provided competent and compassionate spiritual care for persons in a variety of contexts for 41 years and continuing presently.  Her gifs [include] creatively imagining how spiritual care might transform and heal systems and communities [and] the person right in front of her.”

Congratulations, Rev. Hill!
