Soonseung Hong

Supplemental Lecturer in Pastoral Ministry

Dr. Soonseung Hong is an instructor of practical theology at Central Baptist Theological Seminary and currently teaches the “Marriage and Family” course. As the author of several books, Dr. Hong has published multiple books in the area of marriage and family ministry. He obtained his MDiv from Chongshin Theological Seminary and Master in Religious Education (MRE) at Cornerstone University. He received a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS).

Dr. Hong has been a pastor in the church ministry for a long time. Currently, he is ministering at Oconee Community Church (Georgia). Dr. Hong believes that a theological seminary is not just a place to teach knowledge, but also a place to learn the service of Jesus, who washed the feet of his disciples. He is sure that his pastoral experience will be of great help to students in practical as well as academic aspects.

Dr. Hong says that GOD has bestowed each of us a dream and a vision – that we dig, grind, and polish hidden diamonds as to be born a beautiful gem that shines light into the world. He believes CBTS is a place where we discover and develop the hidden diamonds within ourselves in order to make good people for GOD to use.

Dr. Hong is happy that he can work together with students at CBTS to make these dreams come true. “Central Baptist is a seminary that practices the love of Jesus, who showed us the way of serving,” he says. “Each of the professors, including the president, teaches students with a warm heart, love, and passion. I am grateful to be able to work at CBTS, a place full of Christ’s love. We hope that many students, by entering CBTS, will have the opportunity to learn. I give thanks to the LORD for enabling me to work in the ministry.”
