John A. Jones IV

Wisconsin Site Coordinator & Supplemental Associate Professor of Theology

I love teaching theology at Central Seminary. In 2008 when I taught my first “Constructive Theology” class at the Central Wisconsin site, my sense of call was confirmed through the experience of teaching that diverse cohort of adult learners. That sense of call has deepened through my time as Wisconsin Site Coordinator as I have been able to walk alongside students through the span of their seminary journey.

I often describe theology as “conversation,” wrestling with our own ideas about God and about ourselves. Ideally that conversation takes place with and among supportive companions. Central creates the space for students to do just that. This institution strives for justice with a spirit of compassion and collegiality. Each new term brings its own unique gifts through the diverse backgrounds and life experiences of our students.  I am grateful for this community of learning.
