I work in Ann Arbor, Michigan as a the Chaplaincy Certificate Program Director for Central Seminary. I am bi-vocational and also serve as the Director of Spiritual Life at a large retirement community. I find working as an associate professor and chaplain fit together well. In both roles I am blessed to spend time with people who love God and wish to learn more about ways to serve in ministry.
At Central I teach classes in chaplaincy and theology. I love to talk with students about new ways of thinking about church and real ministry in the world. As the Director of Spiritual Life, I pray with residents and families to offer emotional and spiritual support. I preach regularly at the chapel on campus and work with 4 other chaplains.
I received an M.Div. from the Methodist Theological Seminary in Ohio and a PhD in Theology and Ethics from Chicago Theological Seminary. I am ordained in the United Church of Christ and serve a small church in East Lansing, Michigan.
