Where Do We Begin? Small Steps for Engaging Younger Generations

Date: July 23, 2026 7:00 pm

Location: Virtual

We live in a world where we are more connected and yet more isolated than ever before. Families need the church, and the church needs families, and yet, we find ourselves with empty cribs and classrooms. Join us as we talk about and brainstorm ways to meet families where they are, how to use resources in our churches and our communities to reach younger generations, and how to show families that God is still at work and that our churches are spaces where they will be loved, their faith will be formed, and where they too can join in God’s kingdom work.

Rev. Jessica Asbell Oravec brings us a learning session exploring how we can engage with younger generations. She is the Minister to Children and Families at First Baptist Roswell in Roswell, GA, where she has served since 2012. She is a graduate of Mercer University and McAfee School of Theology and is the author of Where Faith and Family Meet, a book of weekly family devotions. She writes children’s missions curriculum for CBF and is passionate about creating curriculum that helps children apply God’s Word to their lives. She and her husband Jonathan have a three-year-old son, Jacob, and live in Acworth, GA.
