Many of our students serve congregations while in seminary. One of their great challenges is learning to advocate for fair compensation and to understand all the details of clergy taxes. In financial coaching at Central students are encouraged to get informed about these important economic realities. Overwhelmingly, coaching sessions in the last few weeks have centered around compensation and taxes. Following a conversation with a student today, I discovered this resource from Christianity Today. It contains helpful information for her, other students like her, working ministers, as well as lay leaders who collaborate on ministry compensation packages.
