Reflections and Conversations about American Christianity and Gun Violence: PART III

Date: March 22, 2023 12:00 pm

Location: Virtual

This is part three in a three-part online Lenten series entitled “Reflections and Conversations about American Christianity and Gun Violence.”

This series of zoom gatherings will occur on three consecutive Wednesdays at 12 noon – 1 pm (Central time) on March 8, 15, and 22. It will be led by three Central Seminary professors – Dr. Tarris Rosell, Dr. David May, and Dr. Ruth Rosell (now emerita), and will focus on ethical, biblical, and pastoral theological perspectives related to this issue.

This series is designed to encourage deeper reflection and conversation. Those who register will receive an article to read for each week.  Each session will consist of one of us presenting some reflections on the topic about which we wrote, a panel discussion between the three of us, and a discussion with the zoom audience who will have had the opportunity to read and reflect on the topic ahead of time.

PART III: “Guns and human suffering: A pastoral theological perspective”

Presenter: Dr. Ruth Rosell, Director of the Buttry Center for Peace and Nonviolence and Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology Emerita at Central Seminary
