Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Joins Leadership Team

Central Seminary is pleased to announce that Scott Wedel has joined the organization in the role of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. An experienced business leader, Scott succeeds George Townsend, who announced in October 2021 that he would be leaving the seminary to pursue new vocational endeavors and complete unfinished educational initiatives. 

Scott comes to Central having led professional-level staff personnel and cross-functional groups in Fortune 500 companies. He worked for 20+ years at Sprint, and most recently, he was for 5 years the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operations Officer at Kansas Manufacturing Solutions, Inc., (KMS) a non-profit organization that provides highly affordable consulting services of all kinds to small and medium-sized manufactures in Kansas.

President Pam Durso said, “It is a pleasure to welcome Scott to our Central community. He  brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from both the corporate and non-profit worlds and has the perfect blend of skills and insights that Central needs to remain financially vibrant in our school’s next season.” 

Scott earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Business from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. His first day at Central was February 1, 2022.
