Central Attracts Leaders and Leaders-to-Be

Rev. Dr. Joshua Paszkiewicz, BCPC, BCCC Executive Director of the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council

Josh’s history with Central Seminary goes back to 2017 when he first came to Central as a visiting student to complete a couple of classes to transfer into a local seminary at which he was completing an MA in Religion. Already an ordained spiritual director, board certified clinical chaplain, and pastoral counselor, the quality of the instruction that Josh received at Central (between engaging Benedictine spirituality in a week-long monastic immersion experience, and studying world religion with such internationally known faculty as Professor Dr. Vern Barnet) inspired him to stay in touch with the institution.

When Central began offering its Master of Arts in Counseling, Josh was the first student recruited into the program. From his previous experiences with the scholar-practitioner model for which Central’s faculty are known, Josh knew that Central’s MACO program would offer him an opportunity for continued education and a deepened clinical skillset, while qualifying him for secular mental health licensure. Josh says of his experience with Central Seminary that “it attracts both established leaders and leaders to be, guaranteeing them alike the preparation and readiness to meet the ever-changing realities of ministry in the contemporary world, at both new and heightened levels.”
