Alumni Spotlight: Rev. Soozi Whitten Ford

Rev. Soozi Whitten Ford is a recipient of Central Seminary’s 2021 Alumni Award for Ministry Excellence.

Rev. Ford is a 1982 Master of Divinity graduate who very recently retired from her role as Executive Minister of the American Baptist Churches of Indiana/Kentucky after serving over 40 years in congregational and denominational ministries, including at Mid-American Baptist Churches and in local congregations in Wyoming and Kansas.  She has led countless mission groups to Nicaragua, Honduras, and Mexico, served as ABCUSA’s national Stewardship Facilitator, and has taught at Sterling College and at Central Seminary.  Most recently she began a partnership with Northern Seminary to support bi-vocational pastors in the Indiana/Kentucky region to receive a seminary education debt-free and developed the Latino-Anglo Bridge Builders program bringing together congregations of various cultures to build relationships and learn from one another.  Even in her retirement she will continue to serve as a chaplain for International Ministries and as the co-leader of the upcoming Women in Ministry conference.

Rev. Ford was nominated for the ministry excellence award by one of her region staff members, a 1985 Central MDiv grad, Dan Chadwick.  Congratulations!
