Thank you for checking into Central Baptist Theological Seminary. I am glad that you are taking time to learn more about our seminary. There is a lot of information to view and evaluate; degree programs, cost, faculty, schedule, catalog, etc.
This information may leave you with more questions. I am happy to help in your exploration of what makes Central a great choice for ministry preparation and enhancing your current ministry setting.
Often, prospective students will ask about Central’s distinctive character. What makes Central a great place to attend? This is an important question, as you have lots of school choices. Here is my answer.
1) Central challenges students to go beyond their comfort zones and experience the breadth of Christian thought and community.
2) Our professors, accessible and practical, encourage students to be ministers that are not only knowledgeable about the Bible and theology but sensitive to human needs and diversity so that the message they carry is a grace-filled Gospel.
3) Our community is diverse. We come from all walks of life. Students vary greatly in age, race, Christian tradition, and Christian thought. Central welcomes the great discussion and learning that comes to life in a diverse environment, but we uphold that the love of God, the work of Christ, and the movement of the Spirit is a stronger bond than our divisions.
4) We believe that men and women can be and are called to minister in all pastoral roles within the church.
I would love to talk with you about your interest in seminary. If you have some time to visit, I would welcome that opportunity. Give me a call, send an email, or stop in.
God bless you and keep you.
